Patrick was born in June 1988. He attended secondary school at St Kieran’s College in Kilkenny City until 2006, going on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Business from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2010.
In 2011 he received a Bachelor of Laws degree from University College Cork. Since 2012 McKee has worked as a trainee solicitor at W.A. Smithwick & Son, Solicitors in Kilkenny.
On 23rd of May 2014 he was elected to Kilkenny County Council for the Constituency of Kilkenny City West.
Patrick is currently the youngest member of Kilkenny County Council.
Patrick held the position of leas-cathaoirleach (Vice-Chairman) of Kilkenny County Council for 2014-15. He was the youngest ever Vice-Chairman of Kilkenny County Council.
Patrick serves as member of several local boards, including the Kilkenny-Carlow Education and Training Board (VEC), Rothe House, and the Watergate Theatre.
He is also member of both the Economic & Tourism Special Policy Committee, and the Planning Special Policy Committee on Kilkenny County Council.
In February 2015 he was unanimously elected as Chairman of Kilkenny Joint Policing Committee.
